Rathmore Hall, or ‘Rathmore Youth and Community Development Association’, was built in 1992. The official opening was May 1992, with President Mary Robinson cutting the ribbon.
This hall was sponsored by local families, who quite literally paid for the hall brick-by-brick. The below photos are line drawings of the walls, with each brick reflected by a family who paid for it.
The larger Rathmore School ‘Scoil Chéile Chríst’, is situated behind the hall and both students and teachers have benefitted from having this amenity for a long time.
The new committee (elected March 2022), have been successful with a large Pobal grant application and the hall has been renovated, painted and given a fresh lease of life for all users of our community.
Thank you,
Rathmore Committee Team
